Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
Coaching is an
interactive process that helps individuals and organizations
develop more rapidly and produce life-changing results. These
changes can make your life more satisfying, rewarding, and
balanced. Coaches work with clients in all areas including
business, career, finances, health, and relationships.
Professional coaches customize their approach to the individual
client’s needs. The coach provides the motivation, support,
accountability, feedback, tools, and objective perspective; the
client is responsible for taking the steps to produce the
desired results.
Life coaching facilitates unleashing your vast untapped
potential. It expands your capacity to be highly effective in
both your personal and professional life. Your life coach
provides a safe ongoing partnership that gives you the tools,
support, feedback, and structure to accomplish your specific
goals. Your coach guides you to your own inner wisdom; to live a life more fully aligned with your vision.
A life coach is someone in your life that is unconditionally on
your side, supporting you, and bringing out the best in you. A
coach helps you close the gap from where you are in your journey
of life to where you want to be. Coaching is a unique
partnership between you and your coach, through which you are
empowered.
Why is coaching so popular?
The synergy between a life coach and the client creates
momentum. Many people know what they should do or what they want
to do, but often find it difficult to actually accomplish. A
life coach assists them in this process. More people are
realizing the importance of having a coach and creating the time
and resources to invest in themselves. Businesses are also
realizing how much it pays to have life coaches for employees.
Coaching is an extremely powerful and
collaborative relationship designed to support you in achieving
your personal and professional goals. The coaching process
unlocks your greatest potential so you can achieve your ultimate
vision. People are realizing that they can design their ideal
life by partnering with a life coach. For years people have had
athletic coaches, music coaches, and acting coaches; now you can
have your own coach for any or every part of your life. No
matter where people are in their lives, they always want more. A
life coach can help you get more money, success, or growth;
build closer relationships; find deeper meaning in life. A life
coach will help you live up to your potential. The coaching
relationship is centered on you the client; it’s all about you.
Your coach creates a safe place for you to take risks and
explore new ideas, a place where you can breathe, vent
frustrations, learn from your failures, and celebrate your
successes. Coaching is done in a safe, non-judgmental space and
it is strictly confidential.
Can people really change?
Yes! Within all of us is the capacity to
manifest and attract all that we really want and need. A coach
can assist you in that process. Having a life coach is like
having your own motivational speaker who creates a safe place
for you to generate change and to live the life you know you
can. You will be provided the tools, support, feedback, and
structure to accomplish these changes through a process of
accountability. You will have an ongoing partnership built on
taking action. A coach is a catalyst that encourages and guides
you to your inner wisdom. Change happens frequently in coaching
as a result of having the support, accountability, motivation,
and tools to do make change happen. Life coaching is very action
oriented.
The benefits of coaching are that you have someone who can give
you an impartial perspective and brainstorm with you on ways to
move ahead and make changes. Interaction with your coach creates
a system of accountability and motivation that promotes
comfortable change. Together we break your vision down into
bite-size pieces so that every week you move closer to your
goals.
You have the laws of attraction along with the action to go with
it. You can set goals and reach them. Fewer than 3% of adults
write down their goals. With a coach, you will set your goals
and reach them. You will also have new tools to change. Coaches
remind you of what needs to be done and ensures your
accountability.
By understanding who we really are deep down inside, we can
expand our levels of awareness for the purpose of living a full
and greater life of peace, ease, balance, and harmony.
Can dependency be
created between a coach and client?
I was a consultant for a national weight loss
company for many years and this question was frequently asked.
My answer is not really. When working with clients on weight-loss programs, 100% of the people who continued meetings with me
on at least a monthly basis kept their weight off and 100% of
the clients who failed to keep even a monthly session put their
weight back on.
We all need people in our lives. Athletes always have coaches,
but they’re not dependent on them. Having a coach and having
that person in your life comes from strength, not dependency.
Clients may need a coach to maximize an opportunity or to
accelerate their growth. An emotional or psychological
dependency is not created. The coach works with people who are
fine and strong on their own; the coach just helps enhance their
own excellence and pull out their own strengths.
How does it work?
Coaching begins with a 2-hour appointment
where we design a program tailored specifically to meet your
needs. We will identify your priorities, goals, and dreams. We
will discuss strategies and outline an action plan. This focus
and momentum will be maintained during your sessions. You can
count on accountability, motivation, encouragement,
brainstorming, and unconditional support.
Coaching can be in person – I am in Denton, Texas – and I have
what I call the Walk and Talk™. Many of my clients come to me
for weight loss and it is very beneficial to walk and talk.
Coaching can also be done via the telephone. Coaching is very
powerful and highly effective by telephone, as there are no
visual distractions. There is also savings in travel time for
you.
There is a minimum three-month commitment. The length of the session
depends on what program you choose. I have a number of programs
to meet your needs.
During your complimentary coaching session we can discuss the
programs and what would suit your needs.
How much does it
cost?
I have a number of packages ranging from $200
to $600 a month.
Every package includes support via email, voicemail, and short
phone conversations between sessions. |
